Lyle (Delmore) Moe, age 82 of Willmar died on Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Memorial service will be 11:00am on Tuesday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00pm on Monday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. www.hafh.org
Delmore “Lyle” Moe was born on April 17, 1930 in Solem Township, Douglas County, Minnesota, the son of Johnnie and Mable (Ranstad) Moe. He grew up in Solem Township where he attended country school and later graduated from Morris Ag School. He was baptized and confirmed at Solem Lutheran Church. Lyle entered the United States Army in October 1951. He was stationed in Germany. He received his Honorable Discharge on September 23, 1953. Lyle attended Wahpeton School of Science where he received his electrical training. He was united in marriage to Elaine Lordalen on January 17, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City, Minnesota. The couple later moved to Willmar where Lyle began working for Nyberg Electric and various electrical contractors and the Union in the Willmar area and other outstate areas. Lyle worked to split to the local Union being a charter member of the I.B.E.W #343.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and attended Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. He was a member of the Willmar V.F.W. # 1639 and the American Legion Post #167 as well as the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Lyle enjoyed hunting, fishing and being on the lake with his pontoon. He liked to tinker around on projects working on clocks: wind up or coo coo clocks, maintaining his 1930 Model-A, or collecting things from auction sales.
Lyle is survived by his wife Elaine; daughter Kristel (and Reed) Hammerschmidt and grandson Zach of Prior Lake, Minnesota; brother David Moe of Kengsington, Minnesota; and other friend and relatives.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Roger (Grace) Moe and son Todd DeLyle Moe in 2006.
