Guri Aas
E.P. Lobeck journal:
1881. February 1. Nice weather and we had sewing circle here and in the afternoon just before the women were to go home, Guri Aas asked if she could lie down for awhile and almost at once she gave birth to a stillborn boy. Almost no one except two or three here knew anything about it as she didn’t wail or carry on.
Notes of Trysil church Ladies Aid
“One of the most exciting moments at one of the Ladies Aid meetings was when one of its members, namely, Mrs. Guri Aasen, gave birth to a baby boy. The child, however, was born dead. During the following days was a most severe snowstorm and when Mrs. Aasen had regained sufficient strength to be taken home, she was taken part of the way on a sled by some men and the rest of the journey was made by horse drawn sleigh.”
E.P. Lobeck journal:
1882. May 19. Guri Aas died after having given birth to a child two hours before.
May 23. Guri Aas was buried.
