Clarence Luther Anderson
Clarence Anderson was born in Holmes City, Minnesota on May 13, 1909, the son of Ole and Emma Anderson.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended school and grew to manhood in this area.
On December 15, 1933 he was united in marriage to Jennie Nygaard. Mrs. and Mrs. Anderson lived in the Minnetonka area and are former members of the Minnetonka Lutheran church. He was employed by the Midland Glass Company of Shakopee, Minnesota. He retired four years ago and a year and a half ago they came to Garfield, Minnesota, where they lived at Woodland Court. He was a man of a quiet and retiring nature, good and helpful neighbor and a faithful husband and father.
Mr. Anderson passed away at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, on Thursday, November 16, 1978 at the age of 69 years.
He is survived by his wife, Jennie; two daughters and one son: Darlene (Mrs. Thomas Roiland) of Mound, Minnesota; Harold Anderson of Shakopee, Minnesota; Jane (Mrs. Gary Kaskela) of Norwood, Minnesota; also surviving are twelve grandchildren, four brothers; Roosevelt Anderson of Hawick, Minnesota; Francis Anderson of St. Cloud, Minnesota; Norman Anderson of Holmes City, Minnesota; Oliver Anderson of Alexandria, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant daughter and one brother, Edwin, and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, November 18, 1978 at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. Carl Anderson officiating.
Interment was at Trysil Cemetery, Holmes City, Minnesota
Pallbearers were David Anderson, Russell Anderson, Ronald Anderson, Curtis Nygaard, Earl Anderson and Leon Anderson.
Organist, Jan Myhr, accompanied Joanne Olson as she sang “I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name” and “How Great Thou Art”.
Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
