Funeral services for Mrs Thea Johnson, 91 years old, a lifetime resident of the Lowry area was held Tuesday, August 18th at St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowry, with the Rev Russell Dudero officiating. Pallbearers were Gerald Olson, Glenn Hoplin, George Femrite Sr, Arnold Hedlin, Bennie Bjokne, and Clifford Hagen. Interment took place at Trysil Lutheran Cemetery.
Mrs Johnson was a resident of the Glenwood Retirement Home for over 2 ½ years. She passed away at the Glenwood Community Hospital on Friday, August 14th.
She was born November 19, 1878 in Ben Wade Township. Her parents were Mr and Mrs Jens Nygaard. She was united in marriage to Enock Johnson on June 6, 1905. She was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church.
Mrs Johnson is survived by two brothers, Ed Nygaard of the Bethany Home in Alexandria and Oscar Nygaard of Starbuck; two daughters, Inez Johnson of Lowry and Norma (Mrs Willard) West of St Paul; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends and relatives attending the funeral were from North Dakota, Minnesota and Colorado.
