Todd LeLyle Moe was born on August 11, 1962 in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Delmore “Lyle” and Elaine (Lordalen) Moe. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from the Willmar High School in the class of 1981. He then attended the auto mechanic program at Willmar Vo-Tech and had just completed his Real Estate Classes at Ridgewater College. After graduating from Willmar Vo-Tech, he packed up his cycle and trailer and moved to Colorado where he lived and worked for several years. He returned to the Willmar area in 1988 and bought his home on Diamond Lake in 1992. He loved being by the lake, and enjoyed sailing, sailboarding, and all the nature and neighbors around him.
Todd was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church in Holmes City and confirmed his faith at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar.
From a young age he was mechanically inclined, bringing home lawnmowers to take apart and fix. From lawnmowers to mini-bikes, four wheelers, dune buggies, motorcycles, cars and race cars, he loved to tinker and drive them all.
He took several trips on motorcycle, south to Georgia, west to California and up the coast to Canada. He even mounted a camcorder on his motorcycle and narrated parts of the trips. He loved adventure and to explore new areas. Todd loved music – listening to his collection of albums and CDs was a favorite pastime. He also played accordion, guitar, tuba, and organ, much of it self-taught. His love and care of animals ranged from frogs and turtles to cats and dogs. Always stopping to move turtles off the roadway, to taking in and feeding strays, were a way of life for Todd, he was naturally kind. The family dogs always went crazy when Todd came, they knew it meant play time! Todd’s kindness, laughter and love will be missed by all.
He is survived by his parents Lyle and Elaine Moe of Willmar; sister Kristel (and Reed) Hammerschmidt and nephew Zach of Prior Lake; aunt Jane Lordalen of Minneapolis; and uncle David Moe of Kensington, and neighbors and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Hilda and Gust Lordalen, and Mabel and Johnnie Moe; aunt and uncle Roger and Grace Moe
