Rites For Mrs. Tillie Myhr In Holmes City
Tillie O. Myhr was born on April 28, 1882 in Holmes City township, the daughter of S. O. and Guro Femrite.
On May 31, 1902 she was united in marriage to Henry O. Myhr at the Trysil church in Holmes City township. After their marriage, they farmed in Holmes City township until Mr. Myhr died August 28, 1939.
Mrs. Myhr moved to Alexandria in 1943 where she made her residence, the past five years at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home.
Mrs. Myhr died Thursday, July 7, 1966 at the Knute Nelson Home, at the age of 84 years. She is survived by four sons and three daughters: Hilda (Mrs. Hans Sholy) of Fargo, N.D., Reuben of Holmes City, Martha (Mrs. Herbert Hjelm) of Alexandria, Harold and Marie (Mrs. Harold Johnson) of Farwell, Clifton and Lawrence of Minneapolis.
Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Femrite of Farwell and Mrs. Annie Mauseth of Crowley, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, Sarah; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 11, 1966 at 11 a.m. from the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, and at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran church in Holmes City, Rev. Oscar L. Olson officiated.
Interment was in the Trysil cemetery, Holmes City township.
Pallbearers were: George Olson, David Anderson, Lonnie Isackson, Murville Femrite, Stanley Femrite and Oliver Gulbranson.
At the Funeral Home Mrs. Dave Holmen sang “There Are Treasures” and “In Heaven” in Swedish. At the church Mrs. Dave Holmen and Mrs. Melvin Mattson sang “Children of the Heavenly Father” and “How Great Thou Art” accompanied by Mrs. William Anderson.
