HENRY JOHAN NYGAARD
Henry Johan Nygaard was born in Ben Wade township Feb 11, 1877, son of Mr and Mrs Jens Nygaard. He had been in failing health for some years, and died October 26, at 12:30 am. He was a member of the Trysil Lutheran church.
He is survived by his wife, three sons, Johnnie, Clifford and Stanley, and a daughter, Alice, all at home. Two daughters preceded him in death 16 years ago. His mother died May 25, 1926 and his father, Sept 2, 1929, two sisters preceded him also. Four brothers and two sisters survive, Thea, (Mrs Enoch Johnson) of Lowry, Albert Nygaard, of Zahl, ND, Joseph Nygaard of Lowry, Eddie Nygaard of St Louis Park, Minn, Minnie, (Mrs David Mortenson), of Ambrose, North Dakota and Oscar Nygaard of Farwell.
Funeral services were held Oct 29th at 1:30 at the home and at 2:15 at the Trysil church, Rev Sheldahl officiating. Priscilla Myhr sang one song at home and two in church. Letters were read from Rev Vaage and Rev Barsness. Pall bearers were six nephews, Lannie, Julian and Walter Wrolson, Elmo and Julian Nygaard and Sylvian Christianson. Honorary pallbearers were Peter and Martin Sogaarden, Henry Femrite, Enock Johnson, Sam Carlson and Christ Christianson. He was laid to rest at Trysil cemetery beside his daughter. Twenty-five dollars were given in his memory to the Trysil church by his wife and children.
