Marjorie Nygaard
Margorie Nygaard, 76, a resident of Fergus Falls, died Tuesday, October 10, 2000, surrounded by her family at the Pioneer Retirement Community in Fergus Falls.
She was born on February 26, 1924, in Morris, Minnesota, the daughter of Grover and Marie (Olson) Russell. She grew up and went to school in the St Cloud area.
On November 3, 1947, she married Johnnie Nygaard. The couple moved to the Fergus Falls area in 1956, where they lovingly raised five children. Three weeks ago, Margorie became a resident of the Pioneer Retirement Community.
Margorie was a member of First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. She was also active at the Senior Center and the YMCA Seniors for a number of years.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Johnnie; an infant son, Joe; and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Clarice (Arlen) Grewe of Fergus Falls; sons, Roger of Dalton; Marvin (Diane) of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, Kenneth of White, South Dakota, and Timothy of St Peter, Minnesota; granddaughters, Rebecca, Danielle, Jennifer and Justine; and grandsons, Logan, and Gregory.
Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 7pm at Olson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 11am Thursday at First Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls
