Mrs Bennett Soberg Funeral Services Held August 4th
Funeral services for Mrs Bennett Soberg were held Thursday, Aug 4, 1960 at 2 pm from the Trysil Lutheran church. Rev H N Schey officiated.
Mrs Donald Olson, accompanied by Mrs Joe Hoium sang “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “God Will Take Care of You”. The congregation sang “Jesus Lover of My Soul”.
The pallbearers were: George Anderson, Stanley Femrite, Murville Femrite, Lonnie Isackson, Henry Anderson and David Anderson.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Sara Pauline Myhr, daughter of Henry and Tillie Myhr, was born in Douglas County on Feb 22, 1903. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in the Trysil church.
She attended school and grew to womanhood in Douglas county, later attending Glenwood Teachers Normal at Glenwood, and taught school for several years.
She was united in marriage to Bennett Soberg on June 22, 1928. After their marriage they farmed in the Holmes City community, until five years ago when they moved to Alexandria.
Mrs Soberg passed away on Monday, Aug 1, 1960, at the age of 57 years, 5 months and 9 days.
Surviving besides her husband, Bennett, are three daughters: Marlene (Mrs Vernal Nelson) of Hoffman, Ardys (Mrs Harold Fisher) of Villard and Gwendolyn (Mrs Robert Schulz) of Great Falls, Mont. Also surviving are her mother, Mrs Tillie Myhr of Alexandria, seven grandchildren and four brothers and three sisters: Reuben Myhr of Holmes City, Harold Myhr of Farwell, Clifton and Lawrence of Minneapolis, Hilda (Mrs Hans Sholey) of Fargo, Marie (Mrs Harold Johnson) Farwell, and Martha (Mrs Herbert Hjelm) of Alexandria.
